This article is dedicated to all acid reflux suffers.  My mother is avid acid refluxes suffer, and I have seen the many days of discomfort that she has experienced.  I have found that one of the biggest problems with acid reflux is the things we eat, and the way we eat certain foods.

In this article I will try my best to give simple remedies that I have seen my mother use to help her cure her acid reflux naturally.

First off do not eat your meals under stress.  Eating under stress puts more pressure on your digestive system, and gives your organ more work to do.

Do not eat, and drink.  As easy as that sounds, that is one of the biggest problems, that causes acid reflux for many people around the world.

Drink 15 minutes before you eat.  It takes about 15-20 minutes for fluid to go through your digestive system.  The key is that you do not want to mix food, and drink in your esophagus at the same time.

If you have missed this opportunity to drink, and you have eaten your meal, the recommended wait time before you should drink again is 2 hours.  Yes 2 hours!  Under normal circumstances, it takes about 2 hours for your body to digest all that food.

Avoid Coffee.  That is right I know all you coffee lovers must be grumbling at this one.  I am sorry, to be the bearer of bad news!  However the continuation of coffee while having an acid reflux attack can make things appear to be worse than they really are.  Both regular, and decaffeinated coffee should be eliminated.

Drink a glass of water with a freshly squeezed lemon in it 30 minutes before your meal.  Fresh lemon juice is good for stimulating the appetite, and increasing salivary, and gastric secretions.

Eat plenty of pineapples.  Pineapples contain a protein digestive enzyme called bromelian. To get the most bromelain out of pineapples it is best if it is juiced.

Include Papaya in your diet as well.  Papaya is the source of the enzyme papain.  It is considered to be an excellent acid reflux natural cure.

Eat plenty of potatoes, and cabbage.  These two common household foods are very good especially if you are experiencing an acid reflux attack, and do not know what to eat.  This is one of my mothers favorites actually as it is really easy for the digestive system to break down.

Eat bananas.  Bananas help to protect the stomach.  A word about bananas they should never be eaten when it is well ripe.  Try to eat the bananas when they are still turning from green to yellow, or best if no spots have started to appear on the bananas as of yet.  It is easier for your stomach to digest, than when you eat a fully riped banana.

Last but not least, do not go to bed with a full stomach.  I think this is one of my mother's biggest mistakes.  It is best to eat at least 2 hours before you go to sleep.  When your mind, and body is resting so should your digestive system.

I hope you will have found these 10 remedies for acid cure reflux to be beneficial.  If applied you will experience less acid reflux outbreaks.

Good Luck and May God Bless!!

Why is it not good to mix food and drink?

It is not good to eat, and drink at the same time because you do not want to fluids in your stomach when your food is digesting. Is is recommended that you drink 15-30 minutes before you eat a meal. Your digestive system already produces, enough fluids to digest your food. having added liquid can sometimes cause indigestion.
